Sweet Pea Jet Set Flower Seeds

Would you like the colour and fragrance of sweet peas for cutting without the hassle of providing netting or tall twigs as growing supports for plants growing up to 1.8 metres/ Step forward Jet Set, a variety bred to grow to just half that height but with the same long flower stems for cutting - much easier to manage and not casting half as much shade on other garden plants. Full colour mixture and 4/5 flowers per stem. Shades of scarlet, crimson, blue, salmon, cerise and mauve. Four or five large flowers on long stems. Dwarf mixture. HA - Hardy annual. Height 90cm (3'). Scent 1. Intermediate type.

Sowing Information

For early flowering sow 3 seeds 13mm ( 1?2") deep per 10cm (4") pot in a greenhouse, or indoors at approximately 13-15°C (55-60°F). Germination 10- 21 days. Acclimatise the plants to outside conditions and plant out in April- May with spacing of 15-23cm (6-9") per plant. Alternatively, sow direct into finely raked, moist, warm, weed-free soil where the plants are to flower, 13mm ( 1?2") deep, in late April-May. Thin seedlings to achieve a final spacing of 15. 23cm (6-9) per plant. Remove the growing tips after 3-4 pairs of leaves have developed to promote more flowers and a bushier plant. May also be sown in September-October in a cold frame/unheated greenhouse to over-winter. Plant out young plants in March-April to provide earliest blooms.
