Sow about 6mm (¼") deep direct into a moist, warm soil. Germination usually 5-10 days. Thin seedlings out in stages to achieve a final spacing of 30cm (12"). For earlier flowering sow in a propagator on a windowsill or in a greenhouse at approximately 18-21°C (65-70°F) using a quality moist compost. Cover the seeds with 6mm (¼") sieved compost. Transfer into further trays and grow on. Acclimatise plants to outside conditions before planting out.
