Growing Information

For early crops sow under glass at 10-15°C (50-60°F) in February. For use in late summer and autumn sow March-May outdoors. For use April-May choose varieties bred specifically for sowing in autumn.

Sowing Information

Sow thinly into a finely raked seedbed at a depth of 13mm ( 1?2") and cover lightly with soil. Germination usually takes 7-12 days. Transfer seedlings when large enough to handle allowing 35cm (14") between plants and 35cm (14") between rows. Seeds can also be sown in March in a propagator on a windowsill or in a greenhouse at approx. 10-15°C (50-60°F). Cover seeds with 6mm (4") quality compost. Transfer seedlings into individual 7.5cm (3") pots and grow on. Plant outside mid-April when danger of frost has passed. Sowing Cropping: 14-16 weeks.
